MACROVISION FIRMWARE HACK

Does anybody know if u can get firmware hacks for recordable dvd players to bypass the macrovision v7 protection so i can do vhs to dvd

Personally instead of messing with all that just get a TV Tuner card or any card really with video input capabilities. Hook the VCR up using the breakout cable. Then you will be able to do just about anything with the resulting file(s).

I use an ancient Optex 'video stabiliser' between the vcr and the dvd recorder.Someone you know must have one of these things from the 80's.Never seen any firmware to do it.

If you go to videohelp.com you can see if there's a macro hack available for your specific recorder, other than that, you'd have to try my 'macro workaround' thread (in this same forum) if you've got the right kind of t.v.; or lastly resort to using a TV tuner card, stabilizer,etc....

P.S. if you get a stabilizer, don't get those 30 dollar or less ones, because I tried one and they suck for me....mine jittered the picture all over the place....bad memories, man.....*:(* anyway, good luck on your 'macro war'! :p)
