Ok I have Cucusoft Converter Pro and I converted AVI files that I downloaded from online. When I converted them and put them on DVDR disk I notice that the movies stutters a bit like the frames are not moving smoothly but when I ask other's do they see what I am seeing they say no it looks as if it is playing smoothly.

On Cucusoft Converter Pro I see that the default frame rate is 23.97 NTSC and the but I can chose 29.97 and I am wondering if this will elimate some of the problems that I am seeing?

Also I would like if someone would just tell me how to use DVD Shrink to shrink some of my converted dvd-video files. I have several that are over 4.8 gb and I wish to reduce to get to fit in a DVDR disk but I don't know how to use DVD Shrink for converted VOB. files.

If you want to shrink your dvd files (.iso or an AUDIO.TS or VIDEO.TS folder), then you have to either a.) open the folder in the main screen of DVD Shrink, or b.) Open the Disk. After it analyzes the files, it will say at the top "re-author" choose that and on the right there is a compression rate. Ajust that to your choice. Hope that helps!

If you see a shuttering when playing a 23.97 fps NTSC video..it's the 2:3 or 3:2 pulldown you're seeing...NTSC has to be 29.97fps...if it says it's playing at 23.97 it's got to be using pulldown. You probably need to use a better higher quality encoder.. or maybe run the .avi thru VirtualDub first checking for "dropped frames" and try a framerate conversion with it..but be carefull the audio must be converted too to match the new video framerate else you will have a audio/video sync problem on your hands..if this happens try BESWEET along with it's GUI(graphic User Interface) to fix the audio bitrate to match the new video framerate.

I re-converted movies to 29.97 and they are playing more smoothly. I haven't noticed an audio/video non synch issues.
