okay i know this movie has been out a while, ive bought this movie twice already in the silver ws format box set. My dilema..when i watch the original in any dvd player in the world, when it gets to the part when the death star blows up alderaan and obi won says "i feel thousands of souls cried out in GLITCH [terror] then suddenly silenced'and then another GLITCH when obi gives luke the blast shield helmet to train.i know other people that have had the same problem im having because every copy in existance has a factory glitch on it. its not dirty or scratched either, its been brand new twice already and im ready to use a new hope for a new frisbee!! anyway just thought id mention this to see if anyone out there has ever bought a GLITCH free dvd of episode 4, i bet lucas had something to do with this

Hmm, mine works perfectly. No glitches in those scenes or any other scene.

Could one of those glitches be the layer break. I don't remember any problems with the disc when I viewed it. There are some DVD players which don't handle playing dvds well. A friend gave me a stand alone Zenith 5.1 surround sound player system(Came with a new TV). It was crap . The player had trouble just getting across the chapters smoothly on factory discs.

Unfortunitly I have had several DVD players that just did not seem to skilled at playing DVD's. You wouldn't think this would be a problem, but it does happen quite a bit. I don't recall having any trouble with this disk either.

maybe different parts of the country have had better luck than the florida copies lol must be just local trouble, thanks for the input, it just proves to me that im not going crazy after all...however it seems that [almost] everyone around me here in florida is having the same problem, i bought it when it first came out in the US on dvd so maybe the factory where they made them was in a big hurry for a deadline or something, even the local video stores copy was glitchin out, maybe its time for the ol swaporooee at wal mart lmao

reply GARMOON: no i dont think it was a layer break, this glitch is worse than the layer break pause,it freezes up and skips almost to the end of the chapter 22 i believe it was.it seems to me that every disc or dvd player in the world has a mind of its own, my pc dvd player is 99%flawless and it wont even play it...maybe they fixed the "so called glitch" in the newer copies?? time for a refresh at wally world

ya HAWTHORNE the abyss agrees with you 100% its like some discs have an attitude! shiznit, my 4th dvd player plays my backup copies better than the original copies, maybe the smaller the file, the better they play [on some players],, i got an el cheapo home dvd player, but this thing plays freaggin mpeg's and just about any disc

Ya, big $$$ players don't necissarily translate into good players. I have a cheap one that plays most everything.
