Hi sorry to ask this guys but I recently bought Taiko no tatsujin for my brother from japan complete with drums. Now I don't have Jap PS2 but I do have a PAL PS2 and HD advanced 3.0 So far I have been able to get dvd games to work when copying off the pc. Ie using DVD Decrypter then either hdldump or winhiip. Thats no problem and they all work well. But I can't seem to get any cd games to work. any attempt results in a pink screen when I try to start it up.
I would love any help I can get as his birthday is next weekend and would like to let him play when its his birthday.

when you say "copying off the pc" you mean putting the game onto HDD? Now I'm not sure which version you have but looking at the list here http://list.ps2hd.com/ , one game doesn't work with HDAdvance while the others do, so do you have by any chance the one that doesn't work?

yes I am copying from the pc onto the HDD by connecting it up to the pc via IDE cable.
Anyway thanks for the speedy reply.
However not wanting to sound ignorant i presumed that hdl was the same as HD advanced. Looking at that list though only 1 had usb hdadvanced support. Does that mean that only that one will work on my PS2. Also I luckily bought the taiko 3 to taiko 6 from best denki when I was in japan. So in theory taiko 6 will work but the rest won't.
Last but least when you guys copy cd based games onto the hdd by loading it off the computer. How do you do it. Alcohol120 or is there another program that is similar to DVD Decrypter but for cd's.

HDAdvance is the same as HDLoader 0.7c, so I think for HDAdvance you'll be wanting to check compatibility in the second column (the one that says HDLoader original), since HDLoader patched probably refers to 0.7e or even 0.8b (latest)

Yep try all of those and see, but looks like 3 is the only one that won't work...

You don't actually need to rip the game to PC before you put it to HDD, Winhiip lets you install games directly from the disc. But yeah Alcohol 120% is what I use, there's a link to a tutorial in my link if you need it.

yeah you might as well install all the games while you are at it (if there's enough space in the HDD) and give all of them a try. I'd be surprised if none of them works
