Is it possible for a DVD Player to be "fussy" ? I loaded up a DVD+R disc into a DVD player and it played it just fine all the way through the movie, but the next day, the player refuses to play the movie or any other DVD+R disc now, but it still playes standard DVDs just fine. I'm slightly confused on this one.

Mayby it's the laser that is fuilty.
You will need a DVD lasercleaner Disc (I bought one too) to clean the leaser. I guess it's different for the laser to read a copy or an original. I had the problem of not reading any DVD+R and +RW (playstation 2) and used a DVD lasercleaner disk Euro 8,00) and everything works fine after using it.

Thanks for the Info, but thats leads me to another question. How does a disc (an object that does not actually touch the laser, unlike how a VHS tape touches the head) clean the laser?

I am the fountain of all Knowledge - lol

There are commercial cleaners available which are basically a CD with a little brush on them to grab the dust off of the laser head. There are also some that use alcohol. I clean mine only when I?m having some kind of trouble, and I use compressed air. I only recommend cleaning a CD drive if you are already having some sort of problem with it.

Each of these options have risks as they are all capable of scratching the lens but I have had success with the compressed air. Some people recommend taking a CD drive into a shop, but the shop I used to work at simply used the commercial solutions I mentioned above, which are much cheaper to do yourself.
