G'DAY, I HAVE A PROBLEM BURNING THE ABOVE NAMED MOVIE. I NORMALLY USE DVDXCOPY OR DVDXEXPRESS BUT BECAUSE THIS MOVIE IS A DVD - 9 I WOULD LIKE IT ON ONE DVD DISK, BUT WHEN I USE DVD X EXPRESS FOR THIS MOVIE THE PROGRAMME JUST FREEZES UP. I DOWNLOADED SMART RIPPER VERSION 2.41 AND DVD 2 ONE VERSION 1.1.1 AND HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO BACKUP THIS MOVIE WITH NO SUCCESS. I WOULD SAY THESE PROGRAMMES ARE NOT AS GOOD AS SOME PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE, DUE TO THE BULLSHIT PROCEDURES TO MAKE SUCCESSFULL BACKUPS. MAYBE I HAVE BEEN SPOILT USING 321 STUDIOS PROGRAMMES BUT I HAVE FOUND THESE THE EASIEST TO USE. THIS IS THE STAGE I AM UP TO WITH BACKING UP THIS MOVIE. I HAVE RIPPED ALL THE FILES TO MY HARD DRIVE AND USED DVD 2 ONE TO COMPRESS THEM TO FIT ON ONE DVD DISK. THE CONTENTS OF MY FOLDER AFTER THE COMPRESSION IS AS FOLLOWS.
default PLS FILE = 1KB
VIDEO_TS.IFO = 6KB
VTS_01_0.IFO = 60KB
VIDEO_TS.BVP = 6KB
VTS_01_0.BVP = 60KB
VTS_01_1 = VOB = 1,048,574KB
VTS_01_2 = VOB = 1,048,574KB
VTS_01_3 = VOB = 1,048,574KB
VTS_01_4 = VOB = 761,016KB

I USE STOMP RECORD NOW MAX VERSION 4.5 WITH THE DVD BURNING PROGRAMME PR DIRECTOR PRO VERSION 2.55 WITH A PIONEER A-05 BURNER RUNNING XP PRO. CAN ANYONE OUT THERE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE AS TO WHAT STEPS I SHOULD TAKE NEXT????

G'day, how are the shrimps.....

I have noticed you have a file in there called:
default PLS FILE = 1KB

This file is not required, I guess this has appeared in conjunction with powerdvd - needs to be removed.

If you have used dvd2one - please check the following:

Are your 'compressed ' files located in a folder called VIDEO_TS (uppercase), if they are not - create a folder of the above and place them in it.(will not work in standalone otherwise)

Once you have done that, use the 'data' option in recnowmax to burn the VIDEO_TS folder - but make sure you have tao,closed in the options selected.

This should burn no problems as I see the total files total less than 4.36Gb....

Is this Crossroads with britney in it LOL....

Let me know how you go on.

ps whens the sheering start........see my nick LOL

Dude, thanks. The movie works fine, did'nt think it was going to be that simple. I take back everything I said about those programs but they should incorporate all these fuctions into one program. It would make life so much simpler. Anyway thanks again, peace!

Yep, it is very simple when you've done it a few times.

Dvdshrink is Ok - free d/l here, For just the movie it can rip,strip, re-author DIRECTLY from the dvd, so you'll only use 4.36Gb of hd space.
It doesn't burn though....shame.
(still worth a trial for free)

I always use:
dvd decrypter - rip OR smartripper (if problems encountered)
dvd2one - process
recnowmax - to burn

Whole process from start to finish approx 1hr-2hr (film dependent), some users do it quicker but I only burn on 1x for long films and 2x for short ones.

Glad I could be of some help......... Baaaaaa!!
