Right now IM backing up all of my old movies with DVD Decrypter. Most of them still have those old paper labels on them. When I rip the discs to my computer, I generally have about a 100% buffer bar. I know that its susposed to be 0% during a read, but my computer seems to still handle it ok. Is there any problem with continuing to do this or should I do something else? I have about 100 dvds that have labels on them so I dont want to remove them all if I dont have to because Im jsut going to throw them out afterwards. Thanks

that's why I buy the printables and let my print right on them:

and now I bought the BenQ 1655 Lightscribe.... I'm waiting to get that baby in ... bought about 30 Verbatim Lightscribe DVD+R, 16x disks for only 19.99. In supermediastore.com they go for 34.99! I think I did good! LOL can't wait to try those honies!

Let us know how the LS pans out. I've been hearing lots of not-so-good things (well, at least in relation to inkjet printable, etc.) I don't do backups but I do make promotional DVDs, so I'm wondering if this is a viable way to make professional-looking discs.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

I know the printable DVDs are the way to do..... just wanted a full blown BenQ that does everything..... I already know the lightscribe is ok but the printable DVDs are the way to do to look more professional.

I always thought that you were supposed to have a buffer?
