It is a os made form xp (illigal which I in no way indorse). it is called Tiny XP Beast Edition. it is a full windows xp sp2 os but with nothing else. it has no games, antivirus, firewall,ect. but it is great for a gaming pc or any pc it can use any windows based program. and it is amazing how little of the sys resources it uses.

Im not saying go download this but i think it would be smart for micro$oft to do something like this. just a core os. it is kidnda like linux (in size and memory usage) but can run any windows program

Dose anyone else think this is a good idea?

It IS XP, a custom install w/ everything stripped out.

There are a dozen or so varieties floating around, some as live-discs similar to what you get from mepis/linspire/ubuntu, some as minimalistic installs, such as this one.

Good luck updating it...lol. windowsupdate.62nds.com should work though.

And...it's illegal as anything. M$ doesn't distribute versions like this because they WANT you to have all the other garbage installed and turned ON by default.
