Can anyone help me please? I softmodded by xbox and have been playing it happily for over a year but now it just died. I have no idea what is wrong. I was playing it hours earlier and then when I went to play it again it freezes at the XBOX screen and then switches to the screen saying "xbox needs servicing". Is my xbox screwed or can this be fixed and softmodded again?....Please someone help me out!..

redo the softmod, cant hurt it any more than its hurt now can it

only realy an option if you can boot a game (original)

Your HDD may have died. I seen the same thing when a friend swapped out the HDD without unlocking the Motherboard and HDD.

well I can't do anything.....nothing shows up....all it does is shows the xbox logo on the screen for like 20 seconds and then it switches to the "xbox needs service" screen.. It doesn't load anything.....now if it's just the hard drivecan I buy a new one and then softmod it again or do i have to buy a whole new Xbox?

Id start with the harddrive just because hardrives rule then go from there. I wouldnt buy a new xbox persay but maybe the help at the pawnshop might be wonders.

Are you sure you cant coldbooting a game first and running your softmod again?

I'm pretty sure if you swap the HDD for another you will also have to swap the Mainbord (serial locked) or unlock it or you will get the same message (Xbox needs srvice).
