Hello.

I have a quick question for anyone willing to answer.

I have an avi file that DISPLAYS 716 mb, but which is (on viewing properties) 699 mb and 730 mb "bytes used."

I have in the past tried to burn avi with over 722 "bytes used". these files would usually display 703 mb and be about 688 mb in the "properties" tab.

What is the limit for this? Is there anyway I can actually burn a 699 (properties)/ 716 (display) / 730+ ("bytes used") file using Nero and a 700 mb disk?

I'm in the habit lately of dling two part avis both of which are usually 699 or 700 mbs, but, just to be clear, those file sizes correspond to what they are, i guess, on the minimum scale. they display 716 mb and in properties they "use" over 730.

Hope this post makes sense.

Sometimes 1 KB = 1024 B, 1 MB = 1024 KB;
sometimes 1 KB = 1000 B, 1 MB = 1000 KB;

699 * 1024 = 715766 ; 715766 * 1024 = 732954624

These numbers are similar to yours - I hope this helps somehow. :)

thanks. but that doesn't help.

edit. actually that does help. now i realize where i was getting confused.

but now it seems the problem centers around my cdr writer which is a SONY CDRW crx100e. I can't burn more than 690 mb using it, which sucks severely since most of the files that come out are 700 mb.
