hi i am having a problem burning hostel on DVD Shrink when i go to open disk and click ok it says... DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. invalid dvd navigation structure and so it will not let me analysis..please help

i just backed this one up,
the simplest way i did was just use DVDFAB... This will take care of it, assuming you have dvdshrink

so you saying i would have to download another program to burn it and i am using imgburn to burn it..it looks just like DVD Decrypter i also had the same problem when i tried burnin fun with dick and jane

Hi mattdogg
DVDFab Decrypter is a ripper only (free) you can rip with that then open those files in Shrink and process as usual.
It will handle Hostel and Fun w/ Dick & Jane and others that Shrink and Decrypter no longer can.

yes as binkie said, there isnt much this cannot handle, as it is updated often.....
i usually start off with AnyDVD and shrink. If that doesnt work, i work with the other two programs...
Just use DVDFAB to rip, then open files from shrink and burn. No problemo

This is what to do if you are having trouble backing up your movies:

Here is the free way of making perfect backups:

1) DVDFab Decrypter - this wil break the movies encryption while ripping the movie to your HDD

2) VobBlanker - Not always needed, but it will get rid of any protection that DVDFD left behind. VobBlanker also allows you to blank,replace,cut and strip titles.

3) DVDShrink - this will allow you to compress the movie to fit onto a blank DVD-5 disc. Select your output as an ISO image

What else to do if the above does not work:

1) Update your dvdwriters firmware

2) Invest in good quality media Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims are best

3) Check your dvd's for dirt, scratches

4) clean your dvd

If your dvd still does not back up, you most properbly have a badly authord dvd, so your only solution is to exchange it.
