I was wondering what the best framerate for DVD-R'z...

Like I stated earlier..I am trying to empty my comp by converting my WMV'z,AVI's, and Mpeg's so they can go on DVD-R's.

I am trying to find out how I can have the Best Quality and also have the smallest File Size so I can put a Bunch of Matches on DVD-R'z

COuld someone plz help?? WHat is the difference between Mpeg-1 and MPEG-2??

WHat framerate should I use??

::Programs I use::

WinAVI Video Converter
ImTOO Mpeg Encoder
TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6

I Have read the FAQS but still need help plz.

I feel PAL 25fps is the best...because PAL is superior to NTSC..
If you live in North America, Japan, etc..Your framerate will be dictatated by the type of video standard used..there are 2 PAL 25fps (europe, middle east) or NTSC 29.97 fps. You should invest/obtain the program GSpot to determine all the tags/codecs/atributes of your Video file...(if it says 23.97fps NTSC don't be alarmed...what that is really telling you is...it was Film transfered to Video( and what it doesn't say is it's using 2:3 or 3:2 pulldown to make it 29.97 fps

Best quality is simple...PAL/ Smallest file size..well as long as you understand the more you compress the less quality you're going to have... but after compiling your Video_TS run it thru REBUILDER before Burning...it will give you the best compression while maintaining the most quality.

MPEG-2 is complient with DVD..

TMPGEncoder will work with your .wmv's and any .asf you need to convert and I believe it's better quality than the ImTOO Mpeg Encoder..I have both. And can/will be willing to help with ScreenShots from each. Good Luck. Happy Authoring.
Have you considered getting Nero....makes fast & easy DVD's will handle the AVI's direct without having to run thru a stand-alone MPEG encoder.
