I was wondering if i could download and burn an iso image to a DVD+R then boot it with a Gameshark 2. Also i've herd that you can only play ps1 games with it, so maybe if i can get a iso of Swap Magic and boot that with the Gameshark 2 so its Gameshark 2 -> Swap Magic(iso) -> Burnt game (iso). I also have the top for the Swap Magic. If its possible then can someone tell me how ? Thanks!

Knowing the forum rules about piracy, I assume that at the iso is legit. Yes you can. Be sure to scan it for viruses first, I like to go a head and rebuild the iso. Just one, for practice, and two I seem to have less probs with my legal backups. MEDIA, use good media. Search and you shall find. A lot. Then burn it at half the max speed for the DVD+R, and voila.
EDIT>I left out Game Shark, never used it. I do use swapmagic coder. If you do a little more searching you will find there are things you can do with gs and ar max.

your method should work, BUT gameshark can only boot cd's. So, get the swap magic cd, use gameshark to boot it, do a TOC refresh with an original ps2 dvd game, swap for your backup. I think its more work than its worth, and would just buy swap magic.

When you bought magic. There should have been an offer for coder. It loads ar codes. There are tools that will allow you to convert gs, armax, and some other codes to AR2v1, and GS2v1. Which will play fine with coder. No problems myself. Mods, If I'm in a gray area please let me know. If you are interested in the converter PM me. CD

You cant play ps1 games with the ps2 version of Gameshark. To use Gameshark for ps1 games, you would need one of the older GS2v1 or GS2v2 which came with a 'dongle' (memory card looking thing) and use the PsOne Bonus Codes Disc that came with those to play ps1 backups/games.
Also, you wont be able to boot ps2 games with the newer Gamesharks from v3 onwards (the ones made by Fire International & distributed by MadCatz) as they dont stop the disc spinning until the ps2 drive resets/ejects. You would need an older v1/v2 & use the PS2 disc, as the disc stops spinning once GS has loaded, allowing you to swap out without pressing eject. And it only works for cd based games, not dvd's, unless you do a TOC refresh with an original store bought dvd game.
