can i apply a softmod and get arround error 5 without my hd key. I can easily do the swap no problem, but I don't have the key. I fixed the error 16 I had, but now I get a 5. I also have a chip modded xbox. Would that help me out. I heard about slayers, but when I try to download it tells me 18 days for it to finish downloading.
uh...actually i may have not phrased my question right. there is no modchip in the xbox that has error 5. So i was wonder if anyone had any experience with this. Before i get a mod-chip that is. I have two xbox's. So i had an error 16 on the non-modded xbos, used xboxhdm and rebuilt the C & E. I never had the HD key. Now I get error 5. Can I fix without a chip?
no to fix an error 21 usually it needs a modchip or a hotswap/rebuild HD...or if it still loads original games and you still have your linux files on there you can boot up say splintercell and FTP through SID 4.5 interface...
What you need to do is first wiat for slayers to dowload, I would also reccomend getting AID 3.0 (google it). Once this is done and everything is burned open up your xbox with the mod chip in it. Wait, what kind of mod chip do you have?
well, i have a spider gx(posted in another forum about my experience.)with the xbox that has the error 21. I can boot all the dashboards from evox to uix. I can FTP, run games all of the homebrew stuff. I just cant boot MS DASH. I rebuilt the c drive already. And got the c drive files from a friend. The build that is 4920 (or something). Still error 21. What should I have on C: anyway. I got rid of my retail drive. Now I think next time I'll put in a safe place.
