I got a eeprom banned for no reason

I was upgrading da hd on a softmodded xbox (i own) and i put a 20 in it(formated with chimps 2.6) and it booted up and was locked fine and all was good so i played a halo 2 custom game...
next day it wont let me on live so i run connection trouble shooter and it stops on 4 and says could not connect to xbox live due to a possible hardware or software modification...
so i put my old hd in (the stock one) and it says could not connect to xbox live check router settings...
any ideas what i did wrong to get banned

Hmm, I'm not sure if you have been banned or not.. it doesen't sound like you have, but I think you can get banned for upgrading hard drive. I think you need to upgrade it before making a live account. I'm not sure, but you should try configuring your Xbox Live settings.
Go to your new dashboard and go to system configuration/system settings and turn static IP OFF. Then scroll the bottom and save it.
Ok, now go to the Microsoft dashboard by pressing eject to boot up the xbox. SOFTMOD - EJECT = RETAIL. It should take you to the - "Xbox Live management screen" and go on Network Setup.
Go to IP addresses and set it to automatic.
Now go to DNS servers and set it to automatic.
Now go to PPOE settings and turn it off.
Then go to advanced and make sure all 3 boxes are empty.
Now it will try to auto connect and if it says successful, you can now get back on live :) Go to your new dashboard and go to system configuration/system settings and turn static IP OFF. Then scroll the bottom and save it.

I got a similar prolem
except, I know how to do the stuff you just posted, prob is now when I try to go in to network settings it reboots the xbox
any idea why?

Ok i have used live 1000's of times and believe me i know how to set up the network settings. I AM BANNED THERE IS NO DOUBT...
but thinks for your help anyway.
HD IS NOT HIGH DEFINITION...

Sorry I was referring to Error's post. And yeah you might have been banned. And i guess thats the way the cookie crumbles. You can try some free services though like xlink kai or xbconnect.
lol " HD IS NOT DEFINITION"
btw it technically is, and hard drive is an HDD

Ah yes.
There are a lot of abreviations.
HD - Hard drive
HDD - Hard Disk Drive.

I have the same problem. i upgraded my hard drive and tried signing into live. Now i cant get onto live even if i put the original hard drive in.I want xbox live back so badly. Please help me out someone.

And if you were given an EEPROM ban then your credit card will have been blacklisted too. So.. there aint much to do but get a RETAIL (ie. your old hard drive) put it in and try signing up for a new account with a new credit card.

NO MIKE ur hd key is but not ur cc# my account still works on my other xbox...
as for playing on live you can try http://www.freewebs.com/extension4life/gettingunbanned.htm but it did not work for me
or you can do what i did and offer a kid who dosent play on live ur xbox w/bigger hd for his non modded one and then soft mod his...
