Ok i have swap magic 3.6 and it says you can launch from memory card and usb devices? i was wondering how do you do that?

you can't copy swap magic to the MC, you have to run it from disc

yep. you can load programs from USB/MC (I have this running on my old PS2 - load HDLoader from the MC so I can play games from my HDD).

I have a question related to this topic. How can I put my patched version HDLoader8b to run off my USB device? That way I wont have to swap out the swap magic disk to the hdloader patch disk. I see it says this at the reply link above but how?

"Loading your own programs from USB Mass Storage Devices:
1. Rename your program to SWAPMAGIC.ELF".

I have a HDLoader8b.ISO file but its 1.19GB which is too big of a file for my USB device. There must be another hdloader8b patch file small enough to run off my 128MB USB device. Can someone explain what I am missing.

open up the iso file with a program like isobuster and extract the .elf file. then just rename it to SWAPMAGIC.ELF and put it on your usb device.

In my HDLoader8b.ISO patch there is no .ELF file in there. I downloaded isobuster but there is no ELF file to extract.
The files I have are SYSTEM.CNF,SCUS_800.00,DUMMY.BIN,DUMMY2.BIN.
Are any of them a ELF file that I need to extract?

FIGURED IT OUT...I drag and drop the SYSTEM.CNF and SCUS_800 files in to a folder named swapmagic in my USB thumbdrive. I then renamed the SCUS_800 file to swapmagic.elf and it loads up all the way to the hdloader8b patched splash screen without swapping any disk. Now I can just keep my swapmagic disk in at all times. This taken me forever to figure and what a relief it is..(Dont need isobuster or cd burner)
