HD PS2 Question PLEASE HELP

I am new to this website but I have a couple questions. I have a network adapter, compatible HD (which i already formatted using Winhiip), enclosure. My PS2 is not modded and I do not have swap magic or anything else. I wanted to buy a HD Advance onlin, but in order for HD Advance to work do I first need to put in the swap magic and then put in hd advance or can I just use HD Advance? If the answer is I could just use HD Advance can I just download a copy and burn it using Alcohol 120% or Nero or something? Can someone please explain. Thank you.

if you buy it it'll work ('cause it'll be like an original ps2 disc). If you burn it, it won't work for the same reason that you can't play burned games on a ps2 without modifying it. My suggestion to you would be to take the money you're gonna spend on hdadvance and buy a swap magic kit and then burn a copy of hdloader/advance and use it in conjunction with swap magic at least this way you'll have the capability of playing backups for about the same price. Of course the better way would be to get a mod and download hdloader/advance which would also give you the capability of playing backups.

I would get a mod but i dont wanna mess up my ps2 while soldering it. Now for the swap magic you mentioned above do I also need the slide tool or just the cds.

If you have a fat PS2 you could either make or buy a slidecard (but they suck)
Or get a flip top (new top half for your original case)
the flip top works better and is much much easier to use.

The slimline you can get an aftermarket flip top, or a set of tools that go by names like
Magic Keys, Magic Switch, Ghost Switch, Slimtools and so on.

That is what you would need along with Swap Magic, these are so the PS2 will not reset when you go to swap the discs.

No. But if you haven't already ordered anything, go with a DMS 4 Pro SE. It's a great chip, especially for playing games off the HD. You hook up your PS2 to your HD with the network adapter as normal. The DMS 4 Pro SE runs off a third party Operating System known as ToxicOS. Toxic OS has a HD Loader program built in. This means you can load the ToxicOS HD Loader right off the chip, with no disc. You can also save your games to the HD through ToxicOS. So with that setup, you'll have zero need for discs, other than storage. This would eliminate the need for a slide card, flip top, or Swap Magic at all. http://www.teammodders.com does great work, they modded my and Steimy's PS2.
