Hi guys
I am reading this site for ages and helped me in many things but I was so ignorant back then that i could not even need to ask for something.
Now that I am quite experienced with all these and bought a new Mini DV camera I would like to ask you something.

I copied the contents of a Mini DV tape into my hard disk using the program provided from the company of the camera. As you can understand the files are really huge (1min/1gb something like that).
There I want to convert these files to another format probably DivX (as I have a DVD standalone player that can play DivX).I would be happy if each MiniDV tape can be in 1 DVDR.
I have tried the automatic DivX converter and the size is too small and the quality too bad even for the normal TV set.
Could you recommend any simple program to encode the files? I also have Premiere but it looks too weird(difficult) and I dont think it encodes to DivX. In one of my tries the sound was not good and sychronised (and I didnt even change anything from the defaults!).
Any suggestions?
