I'm new to the game. But I was reading some of the other posts about the best media to use. How do you know that you are purchasing the correct online when it does not show you the YUDEN000T02 or MCC003 identifiers. On the Best Buy site they have the 50 pk spindle but only show model number 94930. Please advise. Thanks.

I take it you are refering to verbatim here. You are almost guaranteed to get MCC003's if you buy 8x verbatim dvd+r's now days. The only verbatim's to stay away from are the pearl whites.
Branded taiyo yudens can only be purchased online. As long as you buy from a reputable dealer eg. supermediastore.com, meritline.com, or rima.com your ty's should be the real deal.
If you want YUDEN000T02 or MCC003 media codes then you must find 8x media. If you are buying from best buy they no longer carry 8x verbs or Sony TYs for that matter so if you buy the 16x VERBs you will get MCC004 or if you get 16x Sony DVD-R with a white octagonal spacer and made in Japan you will find YUDEN000T03s which are both good although if you want the 8x they carry them online at stores like http://www.supermediastore.com.
