is there any way to play ps2 backups with xploder v5 cd for ps2 on a slimline ps2?

No, as the disc continues spinning while the Xploder is running, and only stops when you go to play a game & the drive ejects (on a 'fat' ps2) or resets (on a slimline) so you can open the lid, thus requiring an original game disc.

You need Swap Magic (with magic keys/after market fliptop), or a modchip.
