Someone told me if I had an action replay I would be able to play japanese games using an american ps2. How would I do that?

I think I remember that it only works with cd based games/dvdrips on cd. And you need a way to swap the discs without pressing the eject button anyway, such as slide tool or fliptop, which you usually buy with Swap Magic boot discs. So that'd make the AR redundant, since you get a cd & dvd version of swap magic when you buy it, which loads imports.
