RW discs you should really not use.Most PS2's will have trouble with those.
A V1-V3 version should read a CD-R just fine, and DVD-R as well
A V4 on up should read the above, plus DVD+R media

yours will most likely read dvd -/+ r no problem. If you really wanna know about RW then the only way to find out is to test them.

NTSC DNAS threads.

RW media is BAD for the laser.
90% chance that it WILL NOT read RW media.
(Cd-r media is compatible with all versions.)
Older used consoles tend to have problems with cd-r,
(due to the higher reading speed on some cheap cd-r media.)
Most consoles (Version 4 and higher)
Can read +r media.
Some simple burns can find this out.
Most important is the 'quality' of the media you are using.

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list. The discs at
the bottom of the list are suitable only for a landfill.

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
PVC = Pioneer = (-R)(-RW)
MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

Possunt Quia Posse Videntur.
