I tried two test burns with home movies that I'm piecing together. The burn went fine, but it seems like it is only in some Nero format and will play on my computer with Nero, but not either DVD players hooked up to my TVs. How do you fix the format this?

Thanks.

Using the Nero recode 2 with Memorex DVD+R. Originally used Pinnacle's Studio 9 to download from my camcorder. Frustrating since I can watch on my computer on either program but not edit or produce a DVD w/ tv disc. Thanks. LMK how to fix.

Hello.

If you were able to do a successful burn with Nero Recode, the DVD should be able to play in your standalone. There are three common reasons why it may not.

1. Using poor quality blank media.
2. Burning too fast.
3. Out of date burner firmware.

Since you used Memorex media, the first factor is in play. There is little media of poorer qaulity than Memorex. Quality media is made by Taiyo Yuden (available online), Verbatim, and Fuji and Sony media labeled as made in Japan (usually by Taiyo Yuden). Burn speeds should not exceed 1/2 the rated speed of the media. It should even be slower for crappy media if one insists on using it. Firmware is available here:

Just find your current firmware version and compare it to the latest available at the site linked. You also can use DVD Decrypter to search for the firmware: Tools > Drive... > Check for Firmware Updates....

Thanks. I'll start from the beginning of the suggestions and go from there. clashrph
