dvd burner plays music cd's but not movies

Hi, Hope someone can help me. I have a NEC 2500a burner and have backed up lots of movies. It still plays audio cd's but now won't recognize any DVD's be new or backups. Has my burner gone bad and need to get a new one? Is it a firmware issue?

might be a firmware issue,try and update the firmware.....thats most likely what it is..

Dump it, it's had it. Good burners are only $35 these days.
