system restore cant be done

hello forum, this is my problem: i wanted to restore my system to a previous date but my comp went through the procedure and said it was unable to restore my comp. long story short, i re-installed windows and tried the system restore (again) but it read same message. Before i go any further i installed a 2nd drive for my downloaded music and thats when i notice the problem. i had a 2nd drive installed so i wont lose my music and pics if i had to re-install windows. so bottom line is: i cant restore my system even after i re-installed windows, please help. thank you in advance.

If the SR has been disabled, or the service that runs it is disabled, SR will not function. It will not work after a fresh installation because there probably won't be any restore points. Those are made after a given set time, or after new installs of programs or drivers. You can set those up in the SR options.
