can someone please help me fix this. anytime i sign on i get this dnas error 612. i was told to reset my modem and i did but that still didnt work. i had to manually put in my ip and think something blocked or something. i dont know how to fix this. please help. thanks.

if you're going through a router put the ps2's ip on the dmz that way none of it's ports is blocked. I think that has to do something with the DNS so, it might also be wrong settings with the ps2.

-612 NET DNS TRY AGAIN
The DNS resolver cannot be found. "DNAS Error (-612) A network error has occurred." Please double-check your network connection and/or network configuration.

Sounds like WEStar is on the right track. I personally don't use DMZ mode, way too many security holes. It sounds like your PS2 is being blocked by a router/firewall. Find out which ports the game you're playing uses (check the manufacturer's website) and forward them appropriately. This site contains a bunch of info on how to forward ports for different routers.
