I am helping friends with there computer. It had the w32.myzor virus. I ran Spybot, adaware, smitfraud fix, and ewido. I'm still getting pop-ups about winantivirus Pro 2006 which direct me to a website. And I'm getting other pop-ups. I already posted a thread on the 13th to which no one responded. Please help.
Here is my hijack this log:

Welcome to the forum at AD. To start off with I want you to make sure you have the latest updates of Lavasoft Ad-Aware, Ewido Ad-Aware, CCleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy, and your latest dat file for your Norton.
Now the biggest mistake everyone makes is not doing their system maintenance in safe mode. Reboot your machine and by pressing F8 repeatedly you will be given the option to enter safe mode.
Once there run all the programs again, ending with Norton. if there are any viruses that Norton could not get rid of list the name and location back on this site. Example: c:\windows\system32\virus_name
Below that post a new HjT log and I will go over it. I am sorry that nobody responded to you before, hopefully we can get this problem fixed ASAP!
Look forward to seeing your next post!

Thank you so much for your reply!! I've updated all of the programs and am ready to do the maintenance. But it is so hard to get this computer into safe mode. I've only managed it a couple of times. I turn it off and restart it and tap F8 but most of the times I get a blue screen that lists:
SM-SONY DVD RW DW-U12A
1st FLOPPY DRIVE
PM-ST 3800 11A
which I think are just the different drives. it says that I can use the up and down arrows to boot from one of these locations or I can hit esc to boot from the default settings.
Do you know anything about this? It is a Sony Vaio PCV-RZ32G.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Yes those are the list of your drives. You should be able to enter safe mode the way I explained. It is possible that something is messed up in the registry. You can try system restore, system recovery, or follow this. The computer should do the rest of the work.
start->run and in the box type c:\I386\winnt32 /unattend
Let me know if you can get it opperational. Thanks

I cannot enter safe mode the way that you explained, using the F8 key. I tryed tying in your directions from the start menu in the run dialog box. But I got an error message that said "c:\I386 refers to a location that is unaivailable...."

It sounds like your system is a little messed up. Read this article and follow the instructions step 1 Reinstall Windows XP by using Windows XP.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315341/
Or you can try the first step I told you again only putting c:\windows\driver cache\i386/unattend
Either way there is something wrong with either your directory or hardware. Have you installed a new device before you started getting errors?

Thanks.

He is not able to enter safe mode. I was trying to resolve that issue. A few lines above giak quotes:
Quote: I cannot enter safe mode the way that you explained, using the F8 key. I tryed tying in your directions from the start menu in the run dialog box. But I got an error message that said "c:\I386 refers to a location that is unaivailable...."
I was trying to get his system restored in the i386 folder. I think I may be going about it the wrong way. Can you think of another way to restore that folder?
Thanks

There's another way to get into Safemode with XP. When the blue screen comes up, press "ESC" then keep tapping the F8 key. The screen with the options for safemode should come up.

Hey, that reference to http://akamai.downloadv3.com is an Electronic Group dialer. Check to be sure that the dialer is really gone and delete that since it looks like part of an autoupdate module.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

@Dunker
Click on it and it takes you to a porn site.
My advice, delete it.

Your welcome.
You can remove them from Ewido the next time you run it.
Happy "safe" computing!

You also need to manually fix all those 018's.

NO! The 018 is for Logitech devices and are safe entries.
Do not get rid of them or your Logitech mouse/keyboard/etc devices will not function properly.

I disagree. Depends on the device(s). A Logitech multimedia keyboard uses alot of those. So do cordless devices. In any respect, they are safe.

Well, I was just going by what the person said in the link I gave. I wouldn't see why there should be so many. Why would her mouse turn into "an evil face". If you know for fact these are safe please tell me, as I told the person to delete them. I don't want to cause problems for people I just assumed since she was having a mouse problem it was because of the many, many entries of the Logitech dll.

Look at the Protocol for all the entries, they all different. Since they all are referenced from a Logitech device (which is hardware, as I stated before) they are all safe.
