i own an apex dvd player ad 1600 when i played my second time of my dvd back up it would say no disc and it normally played it well the first time after i finished burning it

Some cheaper media will degrade, or so I've heard as I've never experienced this.

Make sure the disk is not too scratched or dirty.

If it's the first time the DVD has been tried make sure the movie is in a VIDEO_TS folder.

Could just be a media/DVD player compatability issue. I had an old DVD player that would play my Ritek DVD's about 1/3 of the time. Couldn't figure out what made it run or not. Just picky? I got a Mintek for $50 from Bestbuy.com and it plays everything. Even scratched disks that my other DVD players won't recognize.

I'd try another media brand before trashing anything though.
