what do you all use for cataloging your movies? do you just use a Word Document, or do you all use a program? What program do you use, and which one is the best?

I did this such a long time ago..... contact them! It should say something there on the website that they would send it to you confirming your email address or something like that. Read their web page!

I just use a word table document. List movie and what was done to back it up. The discs are then placed in a 128 disc holders in the order they are done. That way I can find them and not have to rearrange them if alphabetizing them. To check for movies I can alphabetize the table and print it. Then revert to non-alpha. I'm on the 6th holder. The originals are on a book self in alphabetical order. It's easy and simple. nothing special and space saving.

I simply use MS Access. I # all my DVDs, place them in a 200+ disc holder, and catelog them along the way. I set up several different categories, (i.e. year, rating, genre, etc.) to make it easier for me to find what I want. Although I like my method since MS Access is pretty popular, I'd like to give some of the other programs a try as well.

microsoft excel...hands down... but now that i see that link, i might give the other a try... After dl'ing that i see that you need online registration to make a new dvd collection catalog..are there any 'offline' programs like freeware dvd catalogs? ive been looking for a new look on my list!!!something without a time or movie limit... any links or suggestions would be killer!

Nothing fancy. Use simple Word doc. Have backups in numeric order and also have an alpha list of originals. Originals are locked up in a storage closet away from grandkids STICKY fingers. Update both as I add new movies.
Keep iso files for the Lilo & Stich movies as the same sticky fingered grandkids keep abusing the copies and easy enough to reburn without having to rip again. I think they have the dialogue for each one memorized much like the Rocky Horror Show crowd!

To err is human, to really screw up.....use a computer.
