PS2 v4 with DMS3 dvd backup games wont play

hey guys
i have a v4 ps2 with a dms3 chip with the latest flash on it

my problem is it wont let me play dvd backup games

it lets me play
psone original
psone cdr backup
dvd movies original
dvd movies backup
ps2 original
ps2 cd-r games
but not ps2 backup dvd

can anyone help!

??? You mean the firmware?

Make sure your firmware is up to date. Try cleaning the laser with a Q-tip and rubbing Alcohol.

i will try and open it later. can it be a connection on the chip is loose

Yeah I don't really know too much about DMS3, not sure if it runs off ToxicOS or the DMS flash to load backups. Sounds like the type of thing that could a loose solder point, hard to explain why it reads everything but DVD backup games. Try cleaning the laser with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol and double check your wiring.

thanks i didnt install the chip myself so thats why i dont know much.
the guy that installed it said it was my lens and that i should buy one from ebay and he'll install it for free, does that sound right?

Can you link me to the install guide you used? Do you have a US NTSC based system? Have you verified the connection of your wires?
