I have the old model type Ps2 fat one, with a network adapter and hard drive, I usually just to play final fantasy online on it, Well I stop playing it like 3 months ago, and very recently I bought the third expansion for it called Treasure of Ugaleti or something like that, well anyways I turn the ps2 on everything is fine, it shows the harddrive is connected and everything, I put the expansion cd in it, and bamm it says reading disc,,,for 3 seconds then it stops all together and dont say anything else, I repeat put it in again does same thing, over and over again, well I turn the machine off and back on this time, It starts up but then goes black nothing displaying and keeps doing that everything I turnd it on with and without a cd, Im going crazy what is wrong with this machine? Well anyways I decided to unscrew the network adapter with the harddrive off, take it off, then turn the ps2 back on. Behold now it turns on normaly again. I put it back in and same black screen comes on everytime I turn it on with the hard drive, please tell me its my old ps2 that dont work, and not my harddrive or network adapter, I mean the ps2 is 4 years old alot of times it wont even read disks. Please any help or imput is really apreciated thank you.

the laser could be too weak to read the game you just bought, try cleaning the laser lens and adjusting the laser
