Hi All, decided to stop giving the offline suite guys money after our 4th doco'when I decided that I could rough cut our doco's myself and then go to the online suite guys.
Took my Asus A7V333 motherboard, put in a AMD 2000 cpu, doubled the ram to 512mb, put a couple of extra 40 gig hdd's in and added a Leadtek Winfast A180 DDR TDH ViVo card.

Problem is, as soon as I try to capture anything better than in mpeg1, I get dropped frames and/or slurred audio. I want to capture in uncompressed avi as I understand this will allow better editing in either Premier or Ulead but when I do that it's even worse.
Have closed as many programs in background as possible. Obviously as a lowly Exec. Prod. I am missing something. I am using the capture software that came with the card (Winfast PVR) and thought I would then open the captured file in Premier/Ulead for edting purposes.
Any suggestions and assistance would be appreciated! :-)
