Hi.. i was just wondering how do i take a copy protected dvd and make it to an AVI file. I have done dvd backups before using DVD Shrink, or dvdFabDecrypter+vobBlanker+Nerorecode. and i have used super dvd ripper 1.9 but that doesn't work on newer dvds. so i was wondering if there's a better newer software (preferably free) to convert dvd's to AVI files.

There's lots of shareware and commercial programs. This is a free one I think. I've never used it:

you can probably try imtoo dvd creator, even though i have not used it before. i have another imtoo program which until now it can satisfy my needs when ripping audio from dvd to hard drive. i do not know their dvd creator can do a good job or not, but one thing i can assure is that they provide good after sales service. once you encounter problems you can contact them for solution.and the response is quick. i am not an expert at this job so a prompt guide is quite important for me.

and they have free trial on their site, you can have a try.

I know cucusoft, i came accross the software on the site: brothersoft, i am so suprised to find "imtoo" has been nvolved in their introduction about their dvd ripper, they worte:


Cucusoft DVD Ripper is an easy used dvd ripping tool with high ripping speed...........and ImTOO DVD Ripper will automatically copy them one by one.

i do not know why...
