I have tried verbatim DL DVD+R's and I could burn the iso file with Nero burning rom 6, but my box(ver. 1) wouldn't recognize the disc. I bought some Ridata DL DVD-R's off the internet and they aren't working with Nero or imgburn. Nero says that they are not multi-session discs and imgburn says:

Failed to Reserve Track!
Reason: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format

Don't know if I should try Taiyo Yuden +r's or if there's some setting I am missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so Thank You in advance.

Yes and Yes. My drive is a Sony DVD DRU-800A(Dual Layer Capable). I have succesfully backed up some of my other games on regular dvd-r's but these larger games are giving me trouble b/c the verbatim DVD+R DL discs I bought didn't work in my xbox, although I could burn the iso compilation with the verb discs and Nero. So I bought the Ridata DVD-R DL discs off the net and I can't even burn the iso. I am beginning to think the discs are defective, b/c no program I tried has worked. i.e.-imgburn, Nero, clone cd. Also, all the programs say the discs are 12X speed while the package says 4X. go figure.

I'd just avoid using dual layer as much as possible. Most, if not all, games can be modified to fit onto single layer DVD media.

Sorry for my ignorance but what can be done to allow a game such as splinter cell-chaos theory to be put on a regular DVD-5? Or what about Ninja Gaiden which I believe is 6.5 gigs or something like that. I have heard about removing live files and such but never found a really good tut. If you know of one perhaps you could point me in the right direction.

Again thanks alot for all of you guy's help!
