hello i was wondering wat a good modchip is for a slim ps2 also i need to buy it in australia

Depends what you do most.
My top choice is always DMS4 Pro SE
Great chip, lots of features and if you have a V12 or V13 you can later decide to have it put into an HD Combo case and add an internal hard drive.

Matrix Infinity is another real good chip.

Crystal Chip V1.1 is suppose to be very good and with a hacked firmware available on the internet it will give the chip a feature that is perfect for the online gamer, It will auto patch your back up copies to play online so you do not have to do this manually when you burn them.

I went on http://gameland.com.au and got a Duo 3 mod chip. I got it for $40. I am also from Australia. Yay! lol. Anyway, they say it is the best budget mod chip.

if all you want is to play back up games then
the Duo chips are quite good, and good prices too
My Xbox has a DuoX2 chip in it and it works great

Yeah. It boots from most media types eg. DVD-R DVD+R and so on. I think it also has an auto-boot feature also.

if you're goin with the duo3, the lastest one is Duo3 Gold should be no more than $15 if you know how to search for it. $40 is over priced especially if it's in US dollar.

This is kind of an old thread inst it?

Well anyway the best chip on the market right now is the Crystal Chip 2.0. It has a team that is still active unlike DMS. The newest Boot manger for the CC chips has In Game Rest (IGR) which is a very nice feature. The CC chips also do not have the 2x reset or BSOD issues many DMS chips suffer from.
