Its decision time for me. I have to place an order for 200 Ritek G04's or 200 Datawrite New Yellows both at 4x. Im not buying half and half.
This is mainly for back-up purposes and some PS2.

I like the Ritek G04's and would buy them, except for the fact the new Datawrite's are cheaper than them. I've heard some good reviews of the Yellows, especially from Flash, but id would like the opinion of a lot of people here. I know the Ritek G04's are a sound buy, apart from the ease in which the silver top layour can scrape off.

If some of the moderators (DxtrsLab, Loaded, etc) could help me out along with anyone who has tested these disks, id greatly appreciate. Boriqua - im expecting your input, dont be letting me down ;-)

I'd be honoured if the big daddy boss gives his input!!

I am in the process of shopping for bulk media myself. Don't know how much help I would be right now. Where are you interested in ordering these Ritek or DataWrite? I would think to go with the Ritek G04, because if it works, it works. Plus I don't like the logo on the DataWrite, because they tend to show thru the labels. How much cheaper are the DataWrite?

I have A05 & basically I burn @ 2x, because of Princo 4x crap tramautizing me. Basically, my firmware is original, and I choose not to hack it. Does the Ritek 4x burn @ 4x on the A05 without having to hack the firmware?

According to Ritek, they're media is designed to burn at 4x on Pioneer 105/106 and other similar drives. I think it probably would, but then again, im not sure. I work in £'s and not $, but the difference in the Ritek over the Datawrite is:
Ritek: £1.29 per disk
Datawrite: £0.97 per disk

I do believe you won't have the same problems with the new Datawrite Yellows at 4x as you have had with previous Princo Dye's
