I have a hard modded xbox(chip:aladdin no idea what version,software: evox 2.5 slayer auto installer) that works fine but lately the dvd rom hasnt been able to read any disks (2 years later of enjoying my modded xbox), or im getn the dirty disc error screen. So i bought a new phillips drive and i placed it into my xbox. The led on the middle of my xbox flashes green and red and i get the error meessage saying that i should send my xbox to customer support in green. I'm guessing i have to back every thing up from my xbox hdd to my pc. Then re-install evox and then dump every thing back to my xbox hdd. Is that what I have to do, If you have any idea what I'm doing wrong or suggestions to help me plz reply. THX for reading.

i have the exact same problem you do, except mine is just your right off the shelf Xbox. i have not got any responses. i called xbox and they told me i had to ship it to them for $80, so they could fix it. if you figure out what is wrong can you let me know plz. thank you.

all xboxes have that problem eventually when they cant read disc anymore if you dont want to pay that much for a new disc drive you can a buy a dvd lens and replaced it but if you do not want that you can buy a replacement drive that is ment for the xbox get it here http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/search.html

Yea man, usually some gaming stores around town you can bring your xbox in and they will replace the lens for you.
