Havn't been posting here for a while but i have been just reading. anyway, any news on when TY is gonna release DVD DL? I dont see what or why the hold up.
looks like i will sticking to verb DL now, but really--- DL need some competition to lower price. speacking of competetion do you think there is any under the table thing going on between Mistbishi Chem and TY, like M-Chem paying off Ty to hold up on the DL so there is no compettion and verbs can captialize and keep price up?
Seriously: by the same time frame in the DVD R SL 'revloution?" the prices have fallen a LOT! But DLs are not falling wth?

NOPE, absolutely NOT...MKM/Verbatim were/are one of the pioneers in dvd DL media, TY currently does NOT have the facilities/resources to make DL media at the same level as Mitsubishi Kagaku, while it could be a good possibility in the future, Verbatim has it down "to an art" u could say, TY could not compete with them in terms of volume of production, nor profit margin...
i am willing to bet that IF Taiyo Yuden were to come out with DL media (in a big way and flood the market), prices for DL media would still be high as i would guess that the TY DLs would be more expensive than the Verbatim ones currently available~ :) LOL
