Apple EX Chip, will not play PSX Games at all

I have just had an Apple EX chip installed and for some reason it will not play PS games at all, both originals and Backups disc. But it plays PS2 games perfect?

The only time it will play original PS discs is when the chip has been disabled.

When I try to play PS backups it will either think that it?s an Audio CD or acts like its going to boot then reset and displays the Please insert a PS or PS2 Disc.

Anyone got any idea of what could be wrong? And thanks in advance for any help.
