I previously had 100% success with the blue optodiscs...i ordered a new batch, and they are low quality ....they have sparkles or glitter on the backside....they freeze up very easily. be warned.

Sparkles or glitter on the backside? Can you elaborate on that? When and where did you get the Optodisc from? Thanks.

yes, the best way to describe it is that the dye has these unremovable tiny specks that can only be described as glitter. I got it from rima.

Thanks. I'll look out for that. I've had success with the blue top Optos too. I hope this is just an isolated incident.

I had no trouble a few months ago with Optodisc, fine at 2x both on Sony DRU500 and Pioneer A05.

But last batch is simply awfull. Unreadable dvds, write errors...

I had 50 Octoplus 2x Printable DVD-r. two weeks ago. Used 20 - only 2 were OK. The rest either wouldn't play on certain dvd players, Pioneer, Pansonic, Grundig, Chrysler in car dvd and/or blocked so that became unwatchable.

Previously I had 100% success with Octoplus.

I am using a Pioneer 104 version 1.41

Anyone else had similar problems with Octoplus Printables?

For what it's worth. My first DVD-Rs were Optodisk (I bought a spool of 50). All burned fine in my DVR-AO3 Pioneer drive.

I've had pretty decent success with Optodisc, but recently I purchased the gold top and what a nightmare. Out of 50 discs I was only able to use 8. I'll try one more batch of the blue and see if they are still decent.

The Optodisks I purchased were the printable white toped ones. I think I got them from MeritLine.
