Well, first off, sorry for a noobish question (no in faq). I believe the cheapest way to play the back-ups is using the ps2 Swap Magic Boot cd/dvd. So it's about $29. What I don't get is, how can it play the imports? I mean, even if I have the imported original game, the u.s. console won't read it, so how will swap magic play it?
2) Is there a lot of problems with the boot cd/dvd?
3) the site, with the cheapest price, so umm, is there any?
I am just unsure, my parents won't allow me to spend $30 on some internet thing but, still, just in case. And uhh, does a Ps2 game downloaded from internet, dvd decrypted through ISO counts as an import? Thanks.
Sorry, again.
I am also a very bad in searches, so if you tell me to go and search the boards, I'll probably take it as "go to hell you noobish natural!"
well, I may even cry :'(. Anyways don't take it seriously.
Thanks.
^_^ no sig.

hi. if you live in uk the best place for you to buy Swap Magic would be: www.memtechsolutions.net OR www.swapmagic3.com
2) If you buy imported games, some of them don't work but most of them do.
3)www.swapmagic3.com
www.memtechsolutions.net
its worth it aand yes downloaded games do count as imported games.
sites to download from : www.isohunt.com OR www.gamestorrents.
BitTorrent or any other downloader needed.

That's the problem he won't even spend 30 bucks on swap magic what makes you think he'll spend more for a mod chip with the instalation cost.

First you say to your self how many games have I bought because of damaged....you will save more investing in swapmagic and backup your games.I bought my second madden and backed up anduse the back up to play so I won't damage the original. So again you will save more money that way. As for me, advertising stuff... Nope we just let you know what to get to play back ups and don't get paid to do this, I speak for myself and noboy else.

there us one game that is only out in Japan (the 2nd one is in japan too) so, even if I import it, it won't work since it's PAL version. And I got u.S. console. Plus I can just rent any game I want and .... you know...... yeah. Or download using Bitlord. Swap magic Boot discs will make it work for sure?? Tell me what you do with the discs before you play the back-up. Thanks.
I sort of feel better off buying Flash MX 2007, rather than this. Though I don't even know what is "flash" and barely starting to know html. I feel awful.

well. in uk you can get a modchip for like £8. i do prefer a modchip but you have to know how to install it and its all about soldering skills. if you solder a wire wrong it might blow up your ps2 as in it wont work again.so if you know someone who can do it or you know how, i suggest you get a modchip from the cheapest place. but swap magic is good but there are certain games that dont work on it. try going on google and type in "modchip ps2" and see what comes up mate.

""This item requires the use of a no-solder modchip, fliptop, slimswitch (swaptool pro) or slidecard - simple and keeps warranty. this means that with swap magic(SM) you dont need to solder. it doesnt void you ps2 gurantee. im pretty sure your gurantee has expired. so SM is just like a ps2 game you put the SM disc in your ps2. wait for it to load up. swap with back up or imported or whatever you call it game.
p.s. you only need to buy one. swap magic or a modchip mate.

Yeah, he seems a little over excited... lol.
Swap Magic is going to be the cheapest choice... That's it!
The mod chip will cost the same as swap magic but that's without installation and to get someone professional enough to guarantee a good job will triple the initial cost.
With swap magic all you need is the boot CD and DVD... and depending on your model, one of the following...
V1 - 11 (Full size model) : Slide tool or Flip top lid.
V12 (slimline) : Magic Switch or Flip top lid.
You DO NOT also need a mod chip (non solder) to run swap magic provided you have one of the above tools.
I personally have a mod chip and it works great. I did pay $180 (Australian) for it though. Now that I have researched a little more, I can see places offering it done a bit cheaper but I don't mind. It's still a great investment.

Oh btw Ryu77.
What was those "V12" and "V2". I think I only need Swap Magic 3.6. I think I already said that my Ps2 was moded by "tape & tissue" method. So yeah. Put in SM --> Swap DIscs --> press "X"
