ok so i had one of those fake chips that fried after i tried to install new firmware. Then i removed the dead chip and it keeps saying disk is reading whenever i try to play a game and then says disk read error after a looong time( i didnt catch that on the video clip). i dont know if somethings wrong with one of those ribbon cables that come out from the cd drive because a few came out with removing the chip and i put them back in. What is the cause of this, how can i fix it ?

Make sure that all the ribbon cables are inserted correctly and are secure(not lose", what version is your ps2, i can see that its the old bulky one, but what version? And after you updated the firmware on your fake chip, what fault occured that made you take it out?

First of all clean the lense, that might help, if it doesnt, then you might have to do the lens adjustment. And if you still dont have any luck, then your ps2 probably has the v9 syndrome, which means you have to get the LA6508 chip replaced.
