Hello all,
I bought a Fliptop/Swap Magic Combo, for my PS2 in February. It's working great with imports and 9/10 of my games work. I purchased the fliptop to play imports, and it is doing so beautifully!
Now, to my problem... I have 5 games that are not imports, that just will not load properly. I tried cleaning them, and they look like they are brand new! They worked before I installed the flip top. When I put any of the games in, within seconds an odd grinding noise can be heard, and they won't load..
Perhaps, I can do something to make them work? Would loading them with Swap Magic work? (Just as a normal boot)
I would appreciate any help!

I am supposing that these games are original. If its making a grinding noise could be something not aligned properly, make sure that the fliptop is installed correctly, and you can try it with swap magic, not that i think it would make a difference, because they should work anyway.

Right, it seems odd that all of my other games (imports, and official US games) should work, yet a handful of them do not.. Could it still be that the fliptop is not secure?
Loading it with Swap Magic does nothing...

I doubt it, because if most of them work, then it cant be a alignment issue, but you can open it up and fit it all back together again to make sure. I was thinking that it could just be the disks that you are trying to load, but you said they look like new, do they have any scratches on them, and try loading them with swap magic, see if it makes a difference.

Yeah, they look like they are new. The fliptop is pretty secure, I don't see how just a small handful of the games would work, except these...
I tried loading with Swap Magic 3.6 DVD, with a normal boot. They still made that grinding noise. It just seems so wierd that many of my others work fine.
Do you really think lifting the top off, then putting it back on would do the trick?
Any other suggestions?

I dont think so, because as you said, most of them work apart from a few of them, you can have a go and see if it fixes the problem, but i cant guarantee that it will fix the issue, try it and get back to me.
