Whenever i run my ps2 (that is from red light to green light) it makes a weird sound (whirrrr) and it doesnt play any games (or movies). When I openend it up, the noise was due to that shaft like thing (on the right side of the lens below a motor), and was made when the motor rotated due to the collision with a plastic thing above it. So what is wrong in here, any ideas?

you may want to look around the net, they sell PS2 repair guides.
Is the laser moving at all on the "shaft like thing"
can you explain in a little more detail what you saw when you opened it up, even post some pictures if you can.

No its not. The lens is not moving at all. The noise the rotating rod make is due to the collision between a white plastic bar above it, which i think is connected to the lens assembly.

The shaft like thing you are referring to is the drive snake motor. Kinda looks like a screw, right? The arm that comes off the laser rests on these grooves and should move as the motor turns the 'snake'. If the teeth on the bottom of the arm that is attached to the laser are stripped off, or not making contact with the shaft, then the laser wont move. This part can be purchaesed from almost any online PS2 parts shop.

DoubleDwn is right, i had the same problem with a old machine once, but i did a DIY job.
Got some chemical metal, put it on the but that was worn out, and then used a filer, to get back the original shape, and works perfect ever since. :P
