I want to backup my DVD's in the highest quality possible. I don't mind having to have them on 2 discs, as long as they are the same quality as my original. I have seen many programs that compress the file to fit on 1 disc, which I assume compresses the video in some way. I have seen programs such as DVD - Cloner and DVD X Copy. I want something that will be reliable and not waste my blank DVD's. Also, I have a question about Nero. I have used the DVD-Decrypter program and then then IFOeditor according to the doom9.net website and then try and burn the dvd using Nero. Do I need to use nero of can I just place the Video_Ts and Audio_Ts folders on a DVD and use something like Roxio?

Thanks All

The whole point of a forum is to spread the knowledge of its particular subject to those who view the threads. Bearing that in mind, threads have to be viewed in order to spread that knowledge. There are so many threads that address your question that have been posted within the last two weeks that you could view to answer your question.

I could answer it for you, but for the sake of repeating myself and to encourage you to use the forum as it was designed to be used, i will advise you to search for threads with a solution to your problem. Ill even give you a help in the right direction:

Here's a tutorial on DVD Ripping:

Here is a thread with other views on the question you asked:

I did try searching the knowledge base here for information. I read all the guides on how to burn. I wanted some actual opinions from people on which way works best for them. And also if programs like DVDXCopy are worth the money or is it better to just use the free programs and buy something like DVD2one. I wasn't trying to repost for old info. Maybe I phrased it wrong. I just wante peoples opinions on how stuff worked.

There are opinions given in this forum in the past week on what way to Rip and Burn DVD's

My personal opinion is to use the following:
- Smart Ripper (or DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD)
- DVD2One to compress (DVD Shrink is just as good)
- Nero 5.5.10.35 to burn or any of your choice

I looked at alot of the opinions. I have tried the following.

DVD Decrypt
DVD2One
Image Tool
DVD Decrypt

For some reason I have problems using NERO to burn. I always get error about invalid parameters. If I use Decrypt ever works fine.

I would still like some people indepth opinions on DVDXCopy.

Thanks
Chris

try dvd shrink. Free. Decrypts and shrinks in one go.

quality wise, if you go around mebbe 30% compression or a tad more, you probably won't notice the loss of quality.

Wrong forum. DVD-R for newbies is the correct place for this chat.
