I am using DVD+RW or DVD-RW and don't always get a smooth copy.It even happens using regular DVD-R or DVD+R at times. What causes this or better yet how can I cure it?
The disks I use are Maxell DVD+RW and TDK DVD+R , I generally use
DVD Shrink and Nero 5 burning Rom or Clonedvd2.
All help and suggestions would be appreciated. If software is needed
please list site where it can be downloaded.

Well; for one thing; I know that TDK's are not a good disc to burn with; and that may very well be the root of your problem;

Also; it could even be the Maxell's but if they're MIJ; then I'll take that statement back becase I've heard good things about the quality of that media...

Lastly; what speed are you burning at??? Normally; the best rule of thumb to stick with is to burn at half the rated speed of the discs your using (ex. Verbatims 16x certified I burn @ 8x).
If you're burning at 16x then that's another great fault because I've tried that before and it makes your discs far more prone to playback errors.....

Finally; the best brands to stick with are Verbatim; Taiyo Yuden; and Sony MIJ;

P.S. STAY AWAY from media like Memorex; TDK; HP; Imation; and the like.........most of those are bound to be manufactured by CMC Magnetics; who make the world's crappiest media.......you're much better off with TY's; Verbs; and my personal favorite-Sony MIJ!!!!
