Hi Niobis,
As per your kind instructions, I've started this thread in connection with my problem. Synopsis: I had the W32.Myzor.FK@yf virus myself, which I managed to remove according to your instructions. However, I still had my browser (IE 6) homepage redirected to msn.com (it used to be hotmail), got an occasional popup adware and, what's more, I seemed to be infected by winetn32.dll, which is yet another trojan.
Despite all this, the rig seems clean now, at least I have none of the above-mentioned problems any more. Hence, this thread may get deleted real sure, but just for the sake of clarity and a sense of (false) security, can you please have a glimpse at my HjT log below?

Ok, so you are saying you no longer have a problem with winetn32.dll? If so, good becasue SmitFraudFix will fix that, I'm sure.
Run a scan only with HijackThis, check and fix these.

*Note: for the R0 entry: I only know english and do not know what that means, it may be the reason you are being redirected. If you know what it is do not fix it, otherwise, fix it.
Post a new log after fixes, just to be certain.

As regards the R0 item, "HIVATKOZÁSOK" means "references" in English. As you can see, I haven't deleted it, just in case.
And no, I have no more problems with winetn32.dll any more, because I fixed it using HjT prior to submitting the previous log.

Ok, good. Your looking clean. Still have the redirect problem? If so, fix the R0 entry. If it is need you can always get it back. But, I have never seen it before.
If your not having the redirect problems, great! Your good to go.

Thanks a million, Niobis! I had so much trouble with these pests before you helped me out. No redirect problem now, but should it re-occur, I'll delete the R0 entry.
Cheers for your time and expertise!

Hi Niobis,
Unfortunately, it seem that my joy over being clean was premature. I've just done a McAfee check, which signalled that I have winetn32.dll, and, upon running HjT I get this, with a clear sign of winetn32.dll present. Of course, I can remove it again, but what am I supposed to do in order to prevent it from re-surfacing? Also, do you think I should remove the other O20 Winlogon notifier entry?
HjT log follows:

Go here http://www.greatis.com/security/download.htm and get the Platinum Edition.
Kill the file winetn32.dll using RegRun Reanimator.
No, you do not want to delete the other 020 entry as it is very much a safe entry! It belongs to SpySweeper.
Post new log.

Err, sorry mate, but how do I use RegRun? I don't have Reanimator amongst the installed functions... Please advise.
Also, I've tried shredding it using Webroot's Window Washer, but to no avail. Neither the delete, nor the right click-shred method worked for me.
And don't worry, I haven't touched the other O20 entry, I was merely asking.

I should also add that Webroot Spy Sweeper keeps finding "trojan agent winlogonhook". I keep putting it into Quarantine and delete it afterwards, but it reappears after every bootup. How do I prevent it from running each time I start up my rig? I've read some removal instructions on the Net somewhere, adhered to them, but the pest still remains.
Please help in this matter as well.

Sorry, my bad. I thought that RegRun platinum included Reanimator. Having scanned the webpage more thoroughly, I downloaded Reanimator separately and killed winetn32.dll.
Hence, here's the latest log, with the "winetn32.dll (file missing) entry removed:

I daresay item O4 is also some kind of malware; I clearly remeber removing it last night and now it's back, also marked as dangerous by Reanmiator. However, it must have crept back through winetn32.dll
Furthermore, Reanimator found the following entity suspicious, of which I can't tell whether it's good or bad (and I certainly don't know what it intends to update and is labelled as a running process):
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\{385BC6FC-070F-1038-1006-050224060024}\UPDATE.EXE
And last but not least, what should I do about that freaky "trojan agent winlogonhook" mentioned above? That's another resilient pest I can't seem to get rid of.
As always, thanks for your time and patience, mate.
Should I also delete this item?

Bah, sorry messed up the end of my post a bit, so here goes clarification:
Item O4 refers to:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [0d3ac3c1.exe] C:\Documents and Settings\Tomi\Local Settings\Application Data\0d3ac3c1.exe
And the question "Should I delete this item?" refers to the updater running in memory.
My apologies.

Can you please look at the HjT log posted above, Niobis? I worry that some traces of malware still remain on my system.
Cheers

I am very sorry for the late reply! I've been very busy.
First thing I'd like to say is that there is an edit button at the top of each of your posts. :D
Yes, delete this with HijackThis.

Ok, so are you saying you haven't rid winetn32.dll because you do not know how to use RegReanimator?
http://www.greatis.com/regrunhowto.pdf
A 50 page manual...fairly easy to read...it's at the top.
Let me know if you have any problems, I'll try to respond more quickly than last time. :)

Hi Niobis,
No problem about not replying promptly, I assumed you were busy. Also, I must have been blind not to see the "edit" button, sorry.
Actually, I *did* manage to get rid of winetn32.dll at last. The problem was not how to use Reanimator, but where to find it, since it wasn't included in RegRun Platinum. It was available as a separate, stand-alone download, not as part of that bundle. Anyway, that problem's fixed now.
Alright, so I've deleted the item you advised and here's a fresh HjT log:

I'm still kinda baffled by that Update.exe process. I don't know why it is running or what purpose it is supposed to serve.
Edit: (now that I've found the button ;)): and what about item O18, that missing MSN Messenger protocol? I don't recall seeing it in previous logs.

Yeah, I assumed it was in the suite as I didn't look...
UPDATE.EXE...This could be safe or spyware. Most likely it is safe because you have SpySweeper.
MSN Messenger protocol is ok. File may not be missing.
Your log is clean. Still having problems?

No, no more problems, and consecutive scans on different scanners seem to confirm this.
Many thanks again for all your help, matey! I'll buy you a beer if you ever come to visit Hungary ;)
