Connecting component cables to slim problem

Just as the title says. I bought component cables for my slim ps2 but the thing won't fit on the av out. Is there some sort of specific component cables for regular ps2s and slim ones??

Okay, found out what the problem was. It was a factory-defective cable I guess (one of the pins in the connector was not aligned with the others). Just had to replace it.
