I'm a n00b here that needs some help. I've looked around, but haven't found a thread that fits my issue.
My problem is two fold, but one solution will help I think. I am tying to copy my vhs collection to DVD. I have a unit that copies my vhs to dvd fine and they look great on my dvd to analog tv (over s-video).
My problem is if I take the dvd and try to play it on my computer (and lcd monitor) either via windows media player 10, or ripped to an .iso opened with Daemon Tools. The video still plays fine, but I can see the "jaggies" or scan lines that i would expect from an analog source to dv. I know when I was in school with a media 100 system, I copied vhs and other analog sources to the computer and it looked great. What am I missing? (other than a super expesive media 100 system)
I'd like to be able to take my backed up dvd's/vhs and make a "computer friendly" version of the video without the scan lines.
Can anyone point me to a thread that will help, or do any of you have some advice to get rid of the scan lines etc. I know so little that I don't know the correct question to ask, so any of you who have been in my position will be an awesome help.
Hey CFKoder, Do you have a CRT monitor that you can hook up to your computer? Give that a try and see if you still get the same artifacts.
It may be something with the scan/frequency on the LCD.
