When I try to play a cd-r that is burned in video cd format(I downloaded the matrix reloaded and burned that to cd) on my Sony DVP-PQ1 (Picot) DVD player, the film plays in black and white.Take note of the following:

It plays in colour on my computer.
This happens with all vcds.
My television is dual format (PAL &NTSC)
My DVD player is Region 2.
I burned the files to the cd in PAL format.
I burned them using VCDEasy.
When I use Nero, the disc won't play.
All the leads are connected and none are damaged.

Can anyone think of what is wrong?
And how to fix the problem?
Will an S-Video lead make any difference?

What does my video have to do with anything? My dvd player is connected to a seperate scart port in my television than the one my vdeo is in.

I think I might have discovered the problem.
Even though I set the vcd format to PAL, the film is an NTSC file and EasyVcd automatically changes the format back to NTSC. I got around this, and managed to burn the film to a PAL format cd. It's burning at the moment so I don't know the results yet.

Anyway, is there anyway to convert the NTSC video files to PAL format?

What depends if the NTSC files will play in colour? My dvd player or my television?

TMPGEnc is what you need.

Don't do multiple posts with the same question : no excuses please.

Duplicates hidden.

Paul.

I'm back...
...can't you smell the fear?

That would be your television because its supposed to be playing 25fps where with ntsc it would be 29.97fps or 23.97fps. The conversion from NTSC to PAL may cause you some problems on playback such as slight pauses. TMPGEnc actually has an annoying pause on 90% of its encodings, it's only a pause of a fraction of a second but its really bad when there is slow movement!!
